After more than seven decades of serving Beverly Hills with signature warmth and unparalleled pastries, Walter’s Cafe will sadly close its doors for the last time on April 30th. This landmark, founded by Swiss baker Walter Weber 75 years ago and cherished for its rich history and celebrity patronage, has been a beloved part of the community. Owner Fred Djie, who took over the reins from his father Richard over 40 years ago, expressed a poignant farewell, acknowledging the deep impact Walter’s has had on the city. While this decision may come as a surprise to many devoted patrons, it marks the end of an era for a genuine culinary institution. Walter's legacy of hospitality and delightful treats like the famous schnecken will undoubtedly be missed.
